When I say PLEASURE, I’m not talking about short-lived moments of snatched gratification. This isn’t about momentarily relieving a craving, riding the dopamine rush.
I’m talking about sustained waves of bliss, enjoyment, contentment.
It’s a warm glow, radiating from within.
As Dr. Saira Desilets reminds us, there’s nothing frivolous about our experience of pleasure. Pleasure is HEALTH. The cocktail of bio-chemicals released as we breathe, touch and move our bodies pleasurably are working within us: healing; restoring; boosting our immune system all at once.

I’m wondering:

Working somatically, with our bodies, we can approach every sensation with great curiosity and warmth.
We learn to stop judging and labelling our experiences.
We head straight for processing, digesting our experiences as they arise, by fully feeling what’s here in the moment.
With practice, we can grow our capacity to receive and hold pleasurable sensations, and experience physical, emotional and mental health as a result.

I’ve healed my food and body image issues by learning to move, breathe and sound intuitively, following my body’s pleasure as my primary guide.
My clients are also learning to use their pleasure as an inner compass to guide their lives. They are learning to listen to their bodies, to breathe and move and sound their bodies in pleasurable ways.
This simple act of choosing each day to roll around, breathe, feel and touch your own body can radically change your life.
We can pleasure ourselves to freedom.
